The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) is not the only Australian regulator looking to enhance their inter-agency cooperation on the global stage.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has also taken a step towards international cooperation when, last week, it joined the International Competition Network’s ‘Framework on Competitions Agency Procedures’.
The program launched at this year’s ICN conference in Colombia.
The ACCC announced that 60 additional ‘global agencies’ have joined the platform.
“This framework promotes cooperation and the exchange of experience between competition authorities around the world on the important issue of procedural fairness,” ACCC Chair Rod Sims said.
“This international cooperation will improve confidence in both investigative and enforcement processes.”
